MANILA, Philippines – The Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles rebounded from their first loss of the season by routing hosts National University Bulldogs, 89-65, in the UAAP Season 75 men’s basketball tournament.

The four-time defending champions led wire-to-wire and were never really threatened as they bounced back from their upset loss against the UST Growling Tigers last Thursday.

The Eagles got a balanced scoring effort from their players, with Nico Salva top-scoring with 21 points, and Kiefer Ravena delivering an all-around game with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.

In an earlier game, the Far Eastern University Tamaraws eked out a 48-46 victory over the De La Salle Green Archers to remain unbeaten this season.

It was another close victory for the Tamaraws, who snatched a win against UST in their season opener.

Mike Tolomia drained the go-ahead jumper with 47 seconds to go, and Almond Vosotros’ potential game-winning three-pointer hit iron for La Salle. -- Mornings @ ANC, July 23, 2012.
