MANILA -- After missing the finals last year, Ara Galang said De La Salle University's championship victory in the UAAP women's volleyball was worth the wait.

"Sobrang saya, hindi ko na masabi kung gaano kasaya," the Lady Spiker said after their four-set victory against defending champion Ateneo de Manila University.

Galang was having an impressive showing for the most part of Season 77, but her season was cut short after succumbing to a season-ending injury during the semifinals when she accidentally tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial collateral ligament (MCL) and medial meniscus while playing against National University.

She returned in Season 78, however, and was instrumental in leading the Lady Spikers all the way to the finals.

"Wala nang sakit-sakit, na-meet na namin ang goal namin," Galang said, referring to her injury.

"Hindi ko na siya nafi-feel. Puro saya na lang lahat ng nafi-feel ko ngayon."
