WATCH: Duterte names 3 drug lords, tells them to commit suicide
There is no stopping President Rodrigo Duterte in his fight against illegal drugs.
In a press conference Thursday, Duterte identified three alleged leaders of drug trafficking operations in the country, namely Wu Tuan alias Peter Co, Peter Lim alias Jaguar, and Herbert Colangco.
According to Duterte, Co directs drug operations in Luzon and Metro Manila, and Lim in the Visayas. Colangco has links to the notorious Kuratong Baleleng Gang, he said.
Both Co and Colangco are behind bars in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), and Lim is outside the Philippines.
Duterte identified retired Police Deputy Director-General Marcelo Garbo as an alleged protector of Lim.
"This would show to you how corrosive and how maybe, 'lawak,' the dimensions of our problems regarding drugs," he said.
"Itong si Peter Lim, according to the chief PNP, he goes in and out of the Philippines from China. If he has friends here, sabihin mo sa kanya: the moment he lands at NAIA, he will die. He will die."
The President said there are other "persons of interest" in the illegal drug trade case, including local officials, prison officials and Chinese nationals.
"They're destroying the country and they're destroying the youth of the land. So my appeal to them is since they are beyond redemption, they can stop and commit suicide. Because I will not allow these idiots to run their show. Not during my watch," Duterte said.
