The Philippine National Police (PNP) was shocked but will not be distracted by allegations linking five of its leaders to the illegal drug trade, its spokesman said Wednesday.

President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday identified five officials as coddlers of drug rings: retired Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo, retired Chief Supt. Vicente Loot, and Chief Superintendents Joel Pagdilao, Edgardo Tinio and Bernardo Diaz.

Carlos said the PNP Chief, Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa, would meet with the three active duty officers on Wednesday.
