MANILA, Philippines - Relatives, friends and supporters trooped to the Archbishop's Palace in Naga City early Wednesday morning for the first day of wake of the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo.

Two masses will be held everyday, at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., until Thursday.

Robredo's remains will then be flown to Manila on Friday morning for a state funeral.

The late interior secretary will then be brought back to Naga City on Sunday.

The Robredo family initially planned to lay the late Interior secretary to rest on Tuesday.

Robredo died after his plane plunged into waters off Masbate on Saturday morning.

Rescuers endured a grueling task of diving deep into the water until the fuselage containing Robredo's body was found.

The bodies of Robredo's two pilot companions have yet to be retrieved, as of posting.
