Several low-lying areas in Pangasinan remain flooded even as monsoon rains eased Thursday afternoon.

Local officials said rain water started to flow from the province's saturated mountains, flooding the "catch basin" towns of Bayambang, Bugallon, Mangatarem and Aguilar.

The entire province was placed under a state of calamity following days of heavy rains.

Several areas were submerged in neck-deep floods.

Some evacuees were already going sick. Lack of food was also a problem.
