Hectares of rice fields in central Luzon were submerged in floods following days of torrential rains brought by typhoon "Gener" and the southwest monsoon.

Tarlac officials said at least 250 hectares of rice field were submerged in flood waters in five Taralc towns.

In Pampanga, the towns of Guagua, Lubao and Sta. Maria were the hardest hit.

Flooding also hit 18 barangays in Dagupan City, forcing fish pen owners to harvest earlier than scheduled.
