70 dogs rescued in Pangasinan

Authorities rescued 70 dogs intended for meat trade in Sta. Maria, Pangasinan on Wednesday night.

The dogs were supposed to be sold in Baguio, where dog meat is considered a delicacy.

They were found inside a green van, driven by Enrique Panlaque.

Police are expected to turn the dogs over to a facility of the Animal Kingdom Foundation in Capas, Tarlac. - Umagang Kay Ganda, May 3 2012
