Vietnam President Truong Tan Sang is now in Manila.

Sang is among several leaders of APEC member economies expected to arrive Tuesday, including US President Barack Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Sang is scheduled to attend the APEC CEO Summit where he will be speaking alongside leaders from New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong.

Vietnam, Russia and Peru were the last three countries to join APEC, taking the full membership to 21.

In 2006 Vietnam hosted the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting endorsing the Hanoi Action Plan which emphasizes capacity-building measures to help APEC economies prepare to meet their commitments of free and open trade and investment.
