The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday launched the bus segregation scheme along EDSA.

With the new scheme, the MMDA hopes to reduce the congestion of buses in loading and unloading bays.

Under the scheme, buses will be divided into three categories: A, B and C.

A and B buses will use different sets of bus stops to avoid congestion. The C category, on the other hand, is composed of 10% of the number of units of a fleet which will be allowed to use all bus stops.

At the north-bound lane of EDSA, A buses can only stop at Magallanes, Buendia, Guadalupe, Shaw Blvd., SM Megamall, Boni Serrano, Cubao-Farmers and Ermin Garcia.

B buses, meanwhile, can only stop at Ayala Ave., Estrella, Pioneer/Boni, SM Megamall, Ortigas Ave., Main Avenue and Baliwag.

At EDSA south-bound, A buses can stop at Ermin Garcia, Arayat-Cubao, VV Soliven, Connecticut, Shaw Starmall, Guadalupe, Buendia Avenue, and Mantrade.

B buses can stop at Kamuning, Monte de Piedad, Main Avenue, POEA-Ortigas, Pioneer/Boni, Estrella, and Ayala Avenue.
