MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – The lawyers of Janelle Manahan, the girlfriend of slain actor Ram Revilla, filed a supplemental complaint against Ram’s sister Gail Bautista Furuyama and Gail’s husband Hiro for their alleged involvement in the planning of the October 28 murder.
Manahan questioned Gail’s actions after Ram’s death, which Manahan felt were unusual for a grieving sister.
The 22-year-old aspiring actress said in her affidavit that Gail showed no signs of panic when Ramona told her over the phone that Ram had been shot.
Manahan added that when Gail, Hiro, and suspects Ramona and Ramon Joseph Bautista visited her in the hospital, not one of them showed worry or concern over Ram’s death.
She also questioned why Ram’s siblings corroborated Ramona’s previous statement that she was kidnapped by the attackers.
Meanwhile, Manahan’s lawyers said that Gail and Hiro are close friends with one of the suspects Ryan Pastera.
Pastera, who has surfaced to submit his sworn statement at the Parañaque fiscal’s office, was allegedly tasked by Ram’s siblings to hire a killer.
Gail, as well as Pastera, have denied the allegations against them.
Manahan’s lawyers have requested the Department of Justice to place both Gail and Hiro under a watchlist.
Manahan revealed a saved conversation between her and Ram on October 12, when the first attempt on Ram’s life was allegedly made.
According to Manahan, Ram told her through social networking site Facebook that someone was knocking loudly on his bedroom door. Manahan told Ram not to open the door.
Witnesses said the first attempt to kill Ram did not succeed after the killers heard Ram cock a gun inside his bedroom.
Manahan also said that Ramona, who was with her and Ram during the murder, covered her mouth and nose with a towel to put pressure on her gunshot wound.
“Ang sabi niya, ‘Janelle, lagyan nating ng pressure.’ Para mag-stop daw ‘yung bleeding. So nilagay niya ‘yung malaking towel dito,” she said.
Manahan was shot in the face and shoulder by a still unidentified gunman. -- Report from Zyann Ambrosio, ABS-CBN News
