2 suspects shot in EDSA bus robbery
MANILA, Philippines (2nd UPDATE) – Two suspects on board a passenger bus traversing EDSA were shot Friday afternoon after they attempted to steal jewelry from one of the passengers, who turned out to be a policeman in civilian clothes.
The driver of the Kellen bus (UVX 682), Joseph Tuisa, said the suspects pulled off the heist before they got off near the Boni Avenue MRT Station in Mandaluyong at around 4:30 p.m.

Another police officer, SPO1 Alexander Tan, was also on board the bus and chased the suspects.
“’Pag baba nila, sumunod agad ako at nagpakilalang pulis. Bumwelta sa akin ng may dalang panaksak, binara ko na ‘yung dalawa,” he said.
