MANILA, Philippines - A resident claimed 4 people died during the violent demolition of illegal settlers in Silverio Compound in Parañaque Monday.

Speaking to ANC, Shella Bernal accused police of shooting at the protesters and then making arrests.

Bernal claimed the spouse of the president of the vendors group was killed after being shot during the demolition.

She said residents are resisting the demolition of their market stalls because these serve as their homes as well.
