MANILA, Philippines - An off-duty policeman was arrested after he was caught with a firearm despite the election gun ban.

PO1 Thomas Janssen Tulio failed to present proper documents showing he is exempted from the ban. He was caught with his 9mm pistol service firearm while wearing civilian clothes.

He also fought the policemen who were attempting to arrest him. He is facing administrative charges for violating the ban.

Meanwhile, two men were also caught violating the gun ban in Marikina on Thursday evening.

Police said the two were caught riding a motorcycle which had a registration plate matching those used by robbers who victimized an Indian national earlier that day.
