MANILA -- At least 15 people have been arrested across the country for violating the election gun ban since it was implemented last Sunday, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo said Tuesday.
Among those arrested were barangay officials, a businessman, a lawyer and a police escort.
In an interview with ANC, Cerbo said they have also confiscated 16 firearms. Of the 16, 5 were high-powered guns and 11 were short firearms.
Cerbo said four of the confiscated firearms were from Metro Manila. The others were from Regions 1, 3, 4A, 6, 7, 11 and ARMM.
