MANILA, Philippines - Some interesting family myths cropped up during the confirmation hearing of DILG Secretary Mar Roxas before the Commission on Appointments Wednesday morning.

In the hearing, Sen. Edgardo Angara noted that Roxas' maternal lineage can be traced to Mexico and the galleon trade. He also asked Roxas if he has a copy of Julio Iglesias' song "To All the Girls I've Loved Before", noting that the DILG chief collects old songs.

Roxas said he got a copy of the song from Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr.

He also noted that part of the Roxas family folklore "is that our line comes from a wayward priest who spread the seeds all throughout our country and we were a beneficiary of this planting."

Angara later noted that Senator Revilla also told him that a "wayward priest went to Cavite  and planted his seed."

"Look at the product. Outstanding product," he joked.
