MANILA, Philippines - The Integrated Bar of the Philippines Board of Governors on Monday said it will proceed with its investigation on the consolidated disbarment cases filed against Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.

The decision puts to doubt de Lima's bid for Chief Justice since candidates with pending administrative  cases are disqualified.

The Judicial and Bar Council, meanwhile, decided to postpone its vote on the final shortlist for Chief Justice candidates.

Sen. Francis Escudero and Iloilo Rep. Niel Tupas Jr., the 2 representatives of Congress in the JBC, said they needed more time to study the qualifications of the CJ nominees.
