MANILA - A consumer group is urging Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno to investigate reports of the alleged "sale" of court decisions by a member of the Court of Appeals (CA).

Perfecto Tagalog, secretary general of the Coalition of Filipino Consumers, said he has received reports of an appellate court justice who accepts bribes in exchange for the release of writs of preliminary injunction.

An Inquirer report earlier urged a lifestyle check on a CA magistrate for "living beyond his means" and for issuing a writ of preliminary injunction while a colleague was on leave.
