Commission on Audit chairwoman Grace Pulido-Tan denied Tuesday that the agency is harassing Chief Justice Renato Corona when it questioned the Manila City government's purchase of a property of Basa-Guidote Enterprises Inc.

Tan said COA issued a notice of disallowance because the original title of the property has yet to be transferred to the City of Manila 11 years after the purchase. Corona's wife, Cristina, received the P34.7 million purchase price, being the exclusive agent of BGEI.

"Nagbayad ka. Bumili ka ng lupa 10 years ago or something pero hanggang ngayon wala sa iyo ang titulo. Paki-explain naman yan. That is really the effect of the notice of suspension that ripened into a disallowance," she told ANC.

Tan denied the COA is being used to harass Corona.

"I just want to emphasize that this is the work of COA at hindi kami kinakasangkapan na mga may interes," she said.
