MANILA, Philippines -- Despite developments in the distribution of land to farmers, some church leaders are still unhappy with the performance of Agrarian Reform Secretary Virgilio delos Reyes.

Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo said land distribution has been slow.

He added the DAR should also extend other services to the farmers.

"That is what they are saying that once there is a notice of certification then that distribution will continue. I hope it's like that because people can put blockages along the way. Example, if  we have the law with us but the distribution is still slow, what will happen later on? I want to be given the assurance that it would be really like that," he said.

"We are not only speaking about the distribution of land but also about the services to be given to the farmers," Pabillo added.
