MANILA, Philippines -- The Commission on Elections (Comelec) brushes aside calls to switch to manual elections.

On ANC's Headstart, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said the recent mock election was meant to expose the vulnerabilities of the system and correct them.

He said instead of insisting that the country should go back to manual elections, critics should just help the Comelec make the automated elections work.

Jimenez said aside from addressing technical problems with transmission signals and delays in initialization, they are now looking into other factors like the delivery of ballots, training additional staff and contingency measures that need to be put in place.
