MANILA, Philippines -- The Commision on Elections (Comelec) admitted the printing of official ballots got off to a slow start but insisted there were no hitches.
Hundreds of thousands of ballots have been printed since Monday night for Region 12 and Caraga.
Next to be printed are the ballots for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
The Comelec explained ballots for far-flung provinces have to be printed first to allot enough time for delivery.
Poll officials added the printing that was halted last night was for test ballots.
Meanwhile, the National Printing Office (NPO) is confident it will meet the April 25 deadline set by the Comelec.
The target is to print one million ballots per day.
After printing, the ballots will be temporarily housed in the printers warehouse.
Deployment starts March 15.
