Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile apologized for the “fracas” that occurred on the Senate floor following the privilege speech of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Wednesday.

“It was not intended, I was just tying to answer certain personal assaults on my person,” said Enrile.

In his speech, Cayetano slammed Enrile and his chief of staff, Gigi Reyes, for dragging him and his sibling, Sen. Pia Cayetano, in a word war over Enrile’s use of the Senate funds.

But things got personal when Enrile said Cayetano’s father still owed him P37 million for putting up a law office.
