MANILA, Philippines – Trust Filipinos to turn to humor in times of glory or distress.

And with Janine Tugonon's first runner-up finish on Thursday, the Miss Universe 2012 became the butt of jokes on Twitterverse.

ABS-CBN reporter Jeff Canoy posted a fake headline of the Social Welfare Department offering stress debriefing services after the Miss Universe results.

Parody account @superstarmarian, meanwhile, offered free psychology services to Filipino gays who are upset over the pageant.

The tweet was in reference to actress Marian Rivera, who is also a psychology graduate.

ABS-CBN reporter Raffy Santos also suggested summoning Donald Trump's hair, while tech journalist Art Samaniego said Congress should launch an inquiry into the Miss Universe results.

Humor blogger The Professional Heckler said that while Miss USA may have won, she only has one day left as Miss Universe before the supposed date of the end of the world.

Some netizens like Twitter user Camille Naredo said in jest that beauty parlors in the Philippines are in mourning, with the flag in half-mast.

While others like Twitter user Thysz issued a simple warning: "Wag magpaparlor ngayon. Yun lang." – ANCALERTS, ANC, December 20, 2012
