MANILA, Philippines – The wait is almost over for fanboys and curious critics alike as Apple is set to unveil their latest iteration of the iPhone – now commonly called by most as the iPhone 5.

The product will be unveiled around 1 a.m. Manila time, and various blogs have been speculating about what can be expected from the iPhone 5.

A leaked image of the phone shows that it will be a little longer than previous iPhones, likely sporting a four-inch screen. It is expected to be 21% slimmer thanks to a new aluminum unibody design, similar to MacBooks and iPads.

There are also the usual expectations for the insides of the phone, including a better processor and camera, and a better and strong battery.

Chances are high that the new iPhone will also be using a new nano-sim as many telcos all over the world – including local telcos Globe and Smart – have announced that they are ready to support the new wave of smart phones that will use the nano-sim.

The nano-sim will likely allow the iPhone to connect to brand new 4G LTE networks, bringing faster date speeds to mobile browsing. ANC Alerts, ANC, September 12, 2012.
