The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) recently launched a program to support young tech-savvy Filipinos in conducting research and development on innovative ideas.

The “Young Innovators Program” provides research grants to talented Filipinos as young as high school students.

The program was launched last week during the 7th anniversary of what is now known as the Innovation Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technologies.

Out of 97 applicants for the Young Innovators Program, the innovation council chose the so-called “Young Innovative 7.”

Dr. CP David, executive director of DOST’s innovation council, and two of the chosen seven—Alec Denji Santos, a senior high school student of Mapua University, and Joshua Kevin Uy of the University of the Philippines— join ANC’s Future Perfect to talk more about the program.
