It's the constant fear of folks living in flood-prone areas that a heavy downpour will leave them trapped as rising waters submerge their homes.

Oftentimes, the best action to take would be to evacuate but it's also not uncommon for most people to resist abandoning their houses and choose instead to ride out a flood.

John Aguilar, president and lead broker of Realty Emporium, conceptualized a Smart Home that is designed to be less vulnerable to flooding.

Some of the features exclusive to the 3-storey Smart Home are the floating carport, and a floating, detachable balcony.
