MANILA - At 21, Shahab Shabibi was hailed as one of the most influential Asians under 30 by Forbes magazine.

Iranian-born Shabibi is among the founders of Machine Ventures, which provides financial support for startups, such as text-based personal assistant HeyKuya.

Shabibi said the Philippine entrepreneurial community is very supportive, and there are people willing to help those with ideas. One must only believe that he can be part of the solution to the problem, he said.

"It's important to realize that here in the Philippines, there are a lot of problems that are waiting to be solved, and no one is going to solve them unless we, everyone who thinks are able to find a solution, get up and believe that we can be part of this movement to provide solutions to improve people's lives," he said.
