Manila lawmaker withdraws bill on repatriation fund

Manila 4th District Representative Maria Theresa Bonoan-David was forced to withdraw her measure after it caused an uproar online.

 

 

The proposed House Bill 6195 requires overseas Filipino workers to pay $50 for government's emergency repatriation fund.

 

 

 

 

Bonoan said the fund would have been used to help distressed Filipino workers abroad.
