Armed with 71 years of friendship, the Philippines and Australia have long regarded each other as partners and have worked closely in a range of global and regional issues.

Australian Ambassador Amanda Gorely says, despite the long bilateral relationship between the two countries, trade and investment could still be improved.

Gorely also assured that despite a rocky start, her relationship with President Rodrigo Duterte is now "all good."

The envoy formerly condemned the President's rape joke during election time last year.

Gorely joins ANC's "Talkback" to discuss ties between the two countries and the first Philippine-Australia Friendship Day celebration on May 22.
