MANILA, Philippines -- Pulse Asia says the ranking of senatorial candidates remains fluid.

In the latest Pulse Asia survey conducted from January 19 to 30, incumbent senators Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero and Alan Peter Cayetano occupy the top spots while Vice President Jejomar Binay's daughter Nancy, a newcomer in the senatorial race, ranked 4th.

But Pulse Asia President Ronald Holmes said those in the top five of their survey are not sure winners yet.

He said there have been no significant movement in voter preference from the last survey in November to January but they expect significant changes in the rankings when the campaign season officially begins as many voters remain undecided.

"We've seen a slide in number of undecided voters. It means people are becoming more attentive to the candidates and they are withholding their decision until such time that they know more about the candidates... You can expect no one is sure of winning," he told ANC.

"Candidates will be much more categorical about their intent. They will ask people to vote for them... So we do expect changes in ranking from November to January," Holmes added.

He also noted public preference seems to lean towards how candidates address four top issues including the high prices of commodities, work, worker's pay and the reduction of poverty.
