MANILA – Band vocalist Mitoy Yonting got a whopping 82.29% of the viewers’ votes on Sunday after his rousing performance on the second live show of “The Voice of the Philippines” at Resorts World Manila.
Yonting, who moves on to the next phase of the hit talent show, scored a near-landslide for his performance of Queen’s rock anthem “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
“Grabe. This is your crowd, this is your home,” said coach Sarah Geronimo, referring to the popular casino where Yonting’s band, Draybers, are regular performers.
Yonting’s coach Lea Salonga recalled that during rehearsals, the popular contestant asked if he can do a “concert” performance.
“Ginawa mo talaga,” Salonga told Yonting amid loud screams from the crowd.
