Acrobatic trio in death-defying 'PGT' showcase
MANILA - An acrobatic trio earned praise from the judges of "Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT)" Saturday, when they showcased a "much-improved" act before a live audience at PACGOR Grand Theater in Paranaque City.
Among the 36 quarterfinalists of the reality talent search, the Surigao-based EYX Point impressed judge Kris Aquino with the improvements in their strength and balancing act, compared to their audition showcase.
"Kumbaga, 'yung iba took it to the next level. Kayo, dinala niyo to the finals level na," she told the group after their live performance.
Judge Ai Ai delas Alas, on the other hand, compared the trio to a similar act she recently saw in Las Vegas.
"Natutuwa rin ako kasi nung nanggaling kaming Las Vegas, nanood kami nung Absinthe. Isa siya sa pinakamagandang show ngayon doon. And iyang ginagawa niyo, is ginagawa nila roon. So naisip ko, 'Wow, kaya rin pala nating gumawa ng ganoon,'" she said.
Aside from EYX Point, five other "PGT" quarterfinalists performed on Saturday -- flag-twirling group SI.CO.GU, singer John Neil Roa, belly dancer Sundee Vinas, black-light dance crew Zilent Overload, and singer Eumee Lyn Capile.
Voting will determine the top three acts among the second of live performers, which will have the chance to take two slots in the semifinals. -- Pilipinas Got Talent, April 13, 2013, Saturday
