MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Franklin Drilon on Monday said revenue from the proposed sin tax bill will also be used to fund programs that will help tobacco farmers switch to a different crop.

Speaking to radio dzMM, Drilon said part of the sin tax collections will be used to fund the universal healthcare program and improve drying facilities in tobacco-producing provinces in Northern Luzon.

He said he expects the sin tax bill to be put to a vote today after the period of amendments.
