Income tax provisions in reform bill seen as 'problematic'

For the Tax Management Association of the Philippines, the passage of the Duterte government's tax reform package is critical to unlock the country's potential, but some of its provisions should be revisited.

Provisions on the individual income tax, both on compensation income-earners and the self-employed, are particularly problematic, according to TMAP president Malou Lim.

Lim discussed with ANC's Early Edition how the proposal hits the poor more than the rich, which it supposedly targeted.
