The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently launched the Philippine Business Registry (PBR), an online one-stop shop that is aimed at making it easier and faster for entrepreneurs to secure permits needed to start a business.

Trade and Industry Secretary Gregory Domingo expressed hope that with the PBR  will help improve the ease of doing business in the country. The Philippines is currently ranked 136 out of 183 countries in the World Bank's Ease of Doing Business rankings.

"Our target is to be in the Top 50 by 2016, so from 136th place, we want to be in the Top 50. It will take some time, but we're hoping with the PBR, especially with the implementation of the kiosk at the SEC, will hopefully give us many notches down in the next survey which will be conducted in May or July," he told ANC.
