Pinoys win Facebook mobile 'hackathon'

Every person has a great idea within them. For developers of mobile applications, the goldmine lies with perfect execution.

For Facebook mobile developers, an annual "hackathon" in Singapore is their best chance to bring something imagined to a real and live application on the site.

During the competition, a team of Filipinos from Chikka Philippines won the best mobile open graph award, besting developers from Thailand, Indonesia, and India.

In just 4 hours, engineers Melvin Fetalvero, Miko Ignacio, Jason Sia, and Josh Basarte created "Hear Me," an application that lets users post audio notes on their Facebook home page. - Future Perfect, ANC, April 11, 2012
