MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s knockout defeat may have something to do with the “bad things” he has allegedly done before, claimed outspoken boxing trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr.
Floyd Sr., who has earlier accused the Filipino boxer of steroid use, told 8 Count News that the boxer’s reported illicit activities resulted to his stunning loss to Juan Manuel Marquez.
“My thing is I have said some things in the past. Sometimes people do things and it comes back to bite them. You saw how hard he went down. It is what it is,” said Floyd Sr., whose son Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of Pacquiao’s heated rivals.
He added Pacquiao will never be the same boxer after the devastating knockout.
“You don't comeback from knockouts like that and think you'll still be great again,” said Floyd Sr.
Pacquiao earlier filed a defamation suit against several members of Floyd Jr.'s camp for suggesting that he used performance-enhancing substances.
Floyd Jr. later retracted his allegation and agreed to settle the defamation case.
