GlobalPort star Terrence Romeo believes it’s only a matter of time before NLEX super rookie Kiefer Ravena becomes the face of the PBA.
Romeo, who played against Ravena in the UAAP, said the former Ateneo player may be playing in the pros for the first time but his game doesn't bear the mark of a newbie.
“Rookie pa ba iyon? Di ko na alam kung rookie iyon. Sobrang hinog na nu'ng pumasok,” Romeo, a Far Eastern University alumnus, said during an online Q & A with fans recently.
Ravena, picked No. 2 overall in the 2017 PBA rookie draft, led NLEX to two wins in his professional debut, earning player of the week honors in the process.
One of the victories was against Romeo's GlobalPort on Christmas Day, although Romeo was unavailable because of a knee injury.
“Alam niya talaga, may expectation lahat ng tao, so talagang nagpe-prepare ang tao (para sa kanya),” Romeo said.
"Du'n ako bilib sa kanya, grabe ang dedication niya. Grabe ang puso niya pagdating sa paglalaro ng basketball.
"So di malayo ang time na si Kiefer makakasama sa magiging face ng PBA."
Romeo also talked about his signature shoe for Peak, “TR7.”
“Kasi dream ko lang nu'ng bata ako na makapaglaro ako sa PBA tapos ngayon magkakaroon ka ng sarili mong signature shoes, ibang klase iyon. Sobrang dream come true,” he said.
