Serbian mentor Moro Branislav will formally part ways with the Foton Tornadoes but is expected to accept another offer from a Philippine Superliga team.
Foton team manager Diane Santiago confirmed the departure of Branislav, who coached the Tornadoes in four conferences and steered squad to the 2016 Grand Prix throne.
His contract will expire at the end of the year.
Branislav thanked the Tornadoes for the opportunity to handle a young and talented team anchored on 6-foot-5 Jaja Santiago, who he helped turn into a versatile player by switching from her natural position as middle to opposite hitter and even at open spot. Foton tapped his services before the start of the 2016 Grand Prix.
“As you see, I am a professional coach and I am ready to work with any team,” said Branislav. “Just like local volleyball players, I also want to experience other work environment and grow both as a coach and as a person as well.”
Branislav said that that three teams have expressed interest in his services but the mentor has yet to decide which offer to take.
