Donaire now No. 5 in RING's P4P list
MANILA, Philippines – “Filipino Flash” Nonito Donaire Jr. climbed a notch in The RING’s pound-for-pound list following his spectacular third-round knockout victory over Mexico’s Jorge Arce last weekend.
The four-division champion is now ranked No. 5 in the mythical pound-for-pound list, displacing undefeated lightweight Adrien Broner to No. 6.
Donaire is the current World Boxing Organization (WBO) and Ring Magazine super bantamweight champion.
His victory over Arce marked an impressive run in 2012, which included title wins against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. and Jeffrey Mathebula and a successful title defense against Toshiaki Nishioka.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. topped the list, followed by Andre Ward (No. 2), Juan Manuel Marquez (No.3), Sergio Martinez (No. 4).
Manny Pacquiao, who went down to No. 7 after losing to Marquez, is still ahead of Wladimir Klitschko (No. 8), Timothy Bradley (No. 9), and Robert Guerrero (No. 10).
