MANILA, Philippines – A traditional parade of muses highlighted the brief opening ceremonies of the Philippine Basketball Association's 43rd season, wherein beauty queens, volleyball players, actresses, and models shared equal billing.

From Miss World Philippines Laura Lehmann to former NCAA courtside reporter Myrtle Sarosa, the muses added a dose of charm to the simple rites on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

For Sarosa in particular, the experience was a welcome change after spending the past couple of years patrolling the sidelines in the NCAA.

"Masaya, kasi this time, hindi ako naka-rubber shoes sa court, at naglalakad ako kasama ang players," said Sarosa, who was the muse for Barangay Ginebra.

"Ang pamilya ko ay huge Ginebra fans, so noong nalaman nila na ako 'yung magmu-muse, lahat sila full support," she added.
