MANILA, Philippines – The Los Angeles Lakers are struggling, and franchise star Kobe Bryant is not happy about it.
After the Lakers' embarrassing 113-103 home loss at the hands of the rebuilding Orlando Magic, Bryant suggested that starting power forward Pau Gasol should learn how to adjust to the team’s new system.
"Put your big-boy pants on. Just adjust. Just adjust. You can’t whine about it. You can’t complain about it," Bryant said.
For the second straight game, Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni benched Gasol in the fourth quarter, saying the Lakers had to play faster and become more dynamic.
In response to Bryant's criticism, Gasol said he is not irritated by the comments, but admits he is upset over his lack of playing time.
Gasol’s numbers have dropped across the board this season.
The loss to Magic also dropped the Lakers’ record to below .500 at 8-9. -- Report from ANC
