MANILA, Philippines – Juan Manuel Marquez said he plans to take risks when he engages his Filipino rival, Manny Pacquiao, to a toe-to-toe battle in their fourth face off on December 8.
Marquez said he wants to win decisively against Pacquiao and he could only pull that off by being the aggressor.
“I will take more risks in this fight because I will be more aggressive. In the last two fights I was very aggressive also. I was aggressive with him but I will be much more aggressive. As long as I am more aggressive, I will take more risks,” the Mexican said in Boxing Scene.
Marquez has repeatedly been claiming that he was the real victor during his first three clashes with Pacquiao.
In 2004, the two ring warriors fought to a controversial draw. In 2008 and 2011, Pacquiao came off with two close decisions.
Marquez said he will have to knock Pacquiao out to avoid another controversial outcome.
“I know that I have to decisively outfight him and the best way to win is to knock him out,” said the Mexican.
“I am going to be aggressive in this fight. I won’t go for the knockout right away but if I get the opportunity for the knockout I will go for one. I will fight with aggression but also with intelligence."
