MANILA, Philippines – Interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit said he knew he would eventually have to face his team mate and ruling welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.

Although they aren’t close friends, Condit and St-Pierre are technically team mates as both of them were handled by mixed martial arts (MMA) coach Greg Jackson.

Condit described St-Pierre as a "very classy and a very nice guy," but admitted that they rarely interacted in Jackson’s Gym.

He said he knew he would have to go through the MMA superstar to be the best.

"I knew, 'Hey, one day, I'm probably going to have to fight that guy.' It was pretty obvious that Georges was one of the top fighters in the world, if not the top, and I knew if I was going to get there, he was a guy I would eventually have to meet," said Condit in Yahoo! Sports

The two will clash at the main event of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 154 to determine the undisputed welterweight champion.

The fight takes place in Montreal, Quebec on Saturday.

BALLS will be airing UFC 154: St-Pierre vs Condit via satellite on Sunday, November 18 at 11:30am.
