MANILA, Philippines – Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao said there may be only one strategy that could address the fighting style of Juan Manuel Marquez: pure aggression.

“Aggressiveness is the most important thing for this fight,” Pacquiao, who has been stupefied by Marquez’s counterpunching ways in their first three encounters, told the LA Times

Pacquiao said that unlike in their previous fights, he will dominate the gritty Mexican on December 8.

By that, he meant that he wanted to corner, pressure and pummel Marquez.

But how that does address Marquez’s counterpunching tactics?

“In and out, in and out, side by side,” Pacquiao said. “Speed, hip movement. We have a Plan A and Plan B. The plans are to pressure and counter him. Move my head. A lot of work.”

The Filipino said that while he looked “unimpressive” in his last three bouts, his opponents were also to blame for the boring fights.

“My last two or three fights have not been impressive, but guys are running and running from me after I hit them. I thought Marquez ran all night, and [Timothy] Bradley backed off. ...I’m still young and strong.”
