MANILA, Philippines – World flyweight champion Hernan “Little Tyson” Marquez admitted that he has never faced anyone of Brian Viloria’s caliber in his seven-year boxing career.
Marquez said he has seen Viloria’s prowess when the Hawaiian crushed Giovanni Segura in December 2011.
“I did get a chance to see the fight,” Marquez said in Boxing Scene. “The fight is what I expected – that Viloria is too good for Gio… It proved how good he really is.”
Marquez is set for a title unification bout against the “Hawaiian Punch” this weekend.
Little Tyson will be staking his World Boxing Association flyweight title for Viloria’s World Boxing Organization flyweight crown.
“To be honest, I don’t believe I’ve faced a fighter like him,” Marquez admitted. “What gives me the assurance that I can beat him is that I believe it’s my time… I don’t know if it will come by knockout or decision. What I do know is I am getting that victory.”
