MANILA, Philippines – The Alaska Aces seek to get back on track when they face the Air21 Express in the PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday.
After stringing together 5 straight victories, the Aces lost twice in a row to San Mig coffee and Rain or Shine.
Alaska coach Luigi Trillo said they only have to regain their sharpness to get back to their winning ways.
"We still have to remember that we were in control of both those games (versus Rain or Shine and San Mig) and (only) faded. We played two quality teams who have been playing well," pointed out Trillo in PBA.ph.
But they may have a tough game at hand against the Express, whom they defeated last October.
Air21 has already won 2 straight games against Petron Blaze and Barako Bull and is further boosted with the acquisition of prized point guard Mike Cortez.
Coach Franz Pumaren, however, their game against the Aces will serve as a good gauge on their progress.
"We have to take care of the ball and push them to make turnovers," said Pumaren.
