MANILA, Philippines – Eighteen-year-old Mary Sharmaine Deldio-Dianquinay will be seeing action in the 2012 Australian Memory Open Championship on November 24 to 25 in Brisbane, Australia.

Deldio-Dianquinay topped the women’s division of the 2012 Thailand Open Memory Championship which attracted 260 mental athletes last July 7 in Bangkok.

“We’ll be up against strong and more seasoned players in this tournament, and I hope my luck continues there,” said Deldio-Dianquinay. “Right now I’m in deep preparation, doing more practice games with my fellow memory athletes.”

“It’s also a good opportunity to hone my skills as part of my build-up for the World Olympic Memory Championship in London next month,” added Deldio-Dianquinay, who is a BS Speech Pathology student at the University of the Philippines Manila.

Deldio-Dianquinay campaign in Australia is supported by Antipolo City Mayor Nilo Leyble, Philippine Sports Commission chairman Ricardo Garcia, Bicycle Playing Cards and Cutting Edge. -- By Marlon Bernardino
