MANILA, Philippines – After arresting a five-game losing streak, the Barangay Ginebra Kings face a tough challenge anew when they take on league-leading Talk 'N Text in the PBA Philippine Cup Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
"No question about it, mabigat ang kalaban," Ginebra head coach Siot Tanquingcen told PBA.ph.
Ginebra snapped a five-game skid after beating Global Port to improve their record to 3-5, but the Texters (7-1) are a different challenge altogether.
"It's a big test, really. We're up against the league's No. 1 team and we have to come out and play," Tanquingcen said.
But the coach is hopeful that their win against Global Port will give the perennial crowd favorites the necessary momentum against Talk 'N Text.
"It's a confidence-booster. Sana magtuloy-tuloy," Tanquingcen said. "Tiwala sa isa't isa and we'll get through this one way or the other."
The Texters suffered their first loss against Alaska last November 2, but bounced right back by defeating rivals Petron, 92-82, last week.
The Texters are also expected to welcome back Jarred Dillinger and Ryan Reyes when they play Sunday, boosting an already star-studded line-up.
